Quadruple Bus Buffer with 3-State Outputs (Active-Low Output Enable) manufactured by various semiconductor producers (such as Signetics, Fairchild, or National Semiconductor). This high-speed bipolar Fast (F) TTL logic chip packages four independent non-inverting digital buffers driven by active-low output-enable pins. It functions by amplifying low-power digital signals to drive high-capacitance bus lines, processing data at extreme sub-nanosecond hardware propagation speeds while using 3-state logic to completely float its outputs when disabled to prevent bus contention. It was widely implemented to isolate address lines in high-performance computers, expand input/output driving capabilities in industrial control cabinets, and isolate peripheral plug-in cards.
