MC14556BCP
Dual 1-of-4 Decoder / Demultiplexer with Inverted Outputs manufactured by Motorola (onsemi). This high-voltage 4000-series CMOS logic circuit packs two completely standalone 2-line to 4-line digital decoders into a single 16-pin package. It functions by evaluating a 2-bit binary coordinate input and driving the corresponding targeted output line down to a logical low state while maintaining the other three inactive outputs at a high voltage potential, using an active-low enable pin to govern total circuit activation. It was globally standard for sectioning microcomputer expansion memory banks, executing synchronous clock-gating functions, and managing multi-condition logic loops.
