YAC512M: 2-Channel Floating Digital-to-Analog Converter (DAC), utilizing a 10-bit mantissa and 7-step exponent scheme to deliver a wide 16-bit dynamic range. Operating from a single 5V logic supply rail, it incorporates built-in analog switches for sample-and-hold operations and precise thin-film internal resistors. It is engineered primarily as the companion stereo audio DAC for the YMF262 (OPL3) sound synthesis chip inside legacy PC sound cards, housed in a 16-pin surface-mount plastic SOP layout.
