X-RAY DIFFRACTION Trigonometric chart used to interpret Laue photographs in crystallography, specifically for back-reflection patterns. By placing the chart over the X-ray diffraction film, scientists can determine the angular relations between crystallographic planes and zones, allowing them to index the spots and determine the crystal's orientation.
